Overview

Policy Documents — document library for company policies, safety manuals, and SOPs

Upload PDFs or linked documents, assign audiences, and monitor who has acknowledged each policy. The Policy Documents module serves as your organization's central document library for compliance-critical materials — safety manuals, employee handbooks, SOPs, WHMIS documentation, and any other policies that require worker review and sign-off.

Document library features

FeatureDescription
Document ListTable of all published policies with name, category, upload date, and acknowledgment status.
SearchFind documents by name or keyword.
Category FilterFilter by document category (Safety, HR, Operations, etc.).
Status FilterToggle between Active and Archived documents.
Acknowledgment TrackingView which workers have reviewed and signed off on each policy.

Table columns

ColumnDescription
Document NameTitle of the policy or document. Click to open or download.
CategoryClassification of the document (e.g., Safety, HR, Company Policy, SOP).
Date UploadedDate the document was added or last updated.
Uploaded ByThe administrator who published the document.
AcknowledgmentsCount of workers who have acknowledged vs. total assigned (e.g., 12/25).
StatusActive or Archived.

Uploading a document

  1. Click Add Document at the top of the document library.
  2. Enter a Document Name and select a Category.
  3. Upload a PDF file or provide an external link to the document.
  4. Select the audience — choose specific roles, departments, or all workers.
  5. Toggle Require Acknowledgment if workers must sign off after reading.
  6. Click Save to publish the document to the library.

Requiring worker acknowledgment

When acknowledgment is enabled on a document:

Mobile AccessWorkers can open and read the document from the Appello mobile app.
Sign-OffAfter reading, the worker taps Acknowledge to record their sign-off with a timestamp.
Tracking DashboardAdministrators see a real-time count of acknowledged vs. outstanding workers.
RemindersOutstanding workers can be sent follow-up reminders.
Compliance ReportingAcknowledgment records are retained for audit and compliance purposes.

Version control

ActionDescription
Replace DocumentUpload a new version of an existing document. The previous version is archived.
Re-Require AcknowledgmentWhen a document is updated, you can reset acknowledgment tracking so all assigned workers must re-acknowledge the new version.
ArchiveMove outdated documents to Archived status. Archived documents are no longer visible to workers but remain in the system for record-keeping.
