Authentication

This guide covers how to sign in to the Appello web application, manage your credentials, and reset your password.

Signing In​

To access Appello, navigate to your organization's Appello web instance in your web browser. You will be redirected to the sign-in page.

Steps​

  1. Open your browser and go to your Appello web instance URL.
  2. Enter your Email address or Username in the first field.
  3. Enter your Password in the second field.
    • Click the Show button next to the password field to reveal your password if needed.
  4. Optionally, check the Remember me checkbox to stay signed in across browser sessions.
  5. Click the Sign in button.

Once authenticated, you will be redirected to the main Appello dashboard.

Troubleshooting Sign-In Issues​

  • Incorrect credentials -- Double-check that your email/username and password are entered correctly. Passwords are case-sensitive.
  • Account locked -- If you have attempted to sign in too many times with incorrect credentials, your account may be temporarily locked. Wait a few minutes before trying again, or contact your administrator.
  • Browser compatibility -- Appello works best in modern browsers such as Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. Make sure your browser is up to date.

Forgot Your Password​

If you have forgotten your password, you can reset it from the sign-in page.

Steps​

  1. On the sign-in page, click the Forgot your password? link below the password field.
  2. You will be taken to the Reset your password page.
  3. Enter the Email address associated with your Appello account.
  4. Click the Reset password button.
  5. Check your email inbox for a password reset link. Follow the instructions in the email to set a new password.
tip

If you don't receive the reset email within a few minutes, check your spam or junk folder. If you still don't see it, contact your organization's Appello administrator.

Signing Out​

To sign out of Appello:

  1. Click on your profile or account menu in the application.
  2. Select Sign out.

You will be returned to the sign-in page. If you had Remember me enabled, you may need to sign in again on your next visit after signing out.

Security Recommendations​

  • Use a strong password -- Choose a password that is at least 8 characters long and includes a mix of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols.
  • Avoid shared computers -- If you are using a shared or public computer, do not check the Remember me option and always sign out when finished.
  • Keep your credentials private -- Never share your username or password with others. Appello administrators will never ask for your password.
